VETERINARIANS

R. Dean Meyer, DVM

Dr. Meyer received his BS and DVM from Michigan State University. He began practicing in Lodi, Wisconsin and he later owned and operated Riverdale Veterinary Clinic in Muscoda. In 1984 he established Madison Equine Clinic. He is past president of Wisconsin Equine Pracitioners Association. He helped found and is the first president of the Wisconsin State Horse Council. His interest in equine nutrition led to the formation of Doctors Choice Supplements, which is run in conjunction with Madison Equine. Dr. Meyer, his wife Wendy and daughter Nicole enjoy raising and showing Morgan horses. His professional interests include reproduction, lameness and all aspects of dental care.

Rebecca Burcalow, DVM

Dr. Burcalow grew up in Elkhart Lake, WI. She graduated form Purdue in 1991 with a degree in Biology. She then attended and graduated with her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Wisconsin in 1995. She began practicing with Madison Equine Clinic at that time. Dr. Burcalow and her husband live near Waunakee and enjoy time off with their own horses trail riding and team roping. Dr. Burcalow enjoys all aspects of equine practice but primarily enjoys lameness and preventative medicine.

Kristin Kultgen, DVM

Dr. Kultgen began riding saddlebreds as a child in Random Lake, WI. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin in 2006 with her degree in veterinary medicine, Dr. Kultgen completed a rotating equine internship in at the University of Missouri-Columbia. During her internship, Kristin was able to gain experience in many aspects of equine practice, including Ambulatory, Surgery and Medicine. Her veterinary interests include dentistry, lameness and neonatal care. When she is not working, Kristin enjoys spending time traveling, spending time with fiancee and pets and being outdoors.


STAFF

Kayleen Kinnison

Kayleen attended Kirkwood Community College where she graduated with an Associates degree in Horse Husbandry and Agribusiness. After college Kayleen worked on several Quarter Horse farms in Iowa that specialized in halter and western pleasure horses. In 1989 Kayleen moved to Wisconsin and continued to work with Quarter Horses before joining Madison Equine Clinic in 1996. Kayleen enjoys spending time with her 2 kids and trail riding.

Rita Tigert

Rita attended Lakeshore Technical College where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Equine Management. After college Rita worked on several local farms and a large and small animal veterinary clinic in central Wisconsin. Rita and her husband enjoy trail riding and team roping.

Carrie Skogen

Carrie attended UW Platteville where she graduated with a Bachelors in Agribusiness with an emphasis in communications and marketing. She has been active with horses all of her life. Carrie enjoys training and showing Haflingers. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her fiancee and daughter.
